“Back to the Boatyard”


In May, 2005 the Monterey Beer Festival is going “Back To The Boatyard.” Responding to the overwhelming success of last May's “Back To The Boatyard” as well as October's “Brew With A View,” organizers Jeff Moses and Ray Napolitano are gathering approximately forty microbreweries at the beautiful Monterey Bay Boatworks on the Coast Guard Pier in downtown Monterey.

Breweries from last May: Sierra Nevada (sponsor), Pabst (sponsor), Lagunitas, Sudwerk, Lost Coast, Deschutes, Gordon Biersch, Marin/Moylans, Seabright, English Ales, Asahi, New Belgium/Fat Tire, Hoptown, Hoppy, Anderson Valley, Alaskan, Clausthaler/DAB, Firestone Walker, Stone, Monterey Brewing, Chimay, Wolavers Organic, Bridgeport, Wyders Cider, Speakeasy, Spaten, North Coast Brewing, Mendocino, Pete's, San Miguel and more.

 

Food vendors last May: Joe Cingari's BBQ, Andre Lengacher's USA Brats, Kimo Watari's Thaiwaiian Specialties, plus Monterey Bay Calamari and Central Coast Espresso. Also, Bayview Deli will be serving its regular gourmet deli fare and Massaro and Santos Restaurant will be open for lunch and dinner, serving its Monterey style Italian influenced cuisine with a full bar available, great service and great views of the bay.

 

Entertainment in May, The Erhman Hall Band, The Play, and CocoBeat, plus Ramon Barosso and other surprise entertainment (remember the Samba dancers at “Brew With A View?”)…there's always surprise entertainment…plenty of fresh air and great vibes, the best view of any beer festival on the planet and a guaranteed afternoon of pure enjoyment.

 

Tickets are $20 dollars in advance, $30 at the gate. Ticket price covers the beer, food is available for purchase. Call festival hotline, (831) 373-2843 for latest info.

 

This event to benefit the Alliance of Communities for Sustainable Fisheries and Fishermen's Alliance of California, two great organizations dedicated to promoting healthy and harmonious industries for local fishermen.

 

Free festival parking is available in the lower Presidio, just off Lighthouse onto Private Bolio Road —follow signs.

 

Must be certifiably over 21 or under 12 (free) with parent. No pets allowed.
